THE WHAT –
Chose a beautiful book for you.. (the journal)
To date, there isn’t enough proof that ‘Banging Away’ on a keyboard has the same impact as placing pen to paper.
So for now I will suggest focus on writing and that you purchase a beautiful journal, one that looks and feels inspirational to you…
Thats right – pick it up and speak to it, see if it wants to share the very special journey ahead with you.
The one that jumps out at you from the shelf in the store, like a puppy dog greeting its new owner for the first time. (THIS IS THE ONE)
A nice pen or pencil
This is also required, this is now the connection between your heart’s innermost desires and the record keeping material. Together they will produce precious memories for eternity.
The important thing to remember here, is that your equipment must hold personal significance to you.
- The pen – has to feel comfortable and worthy
- The paper must connect with your heart each time the pen performs its storytelling dance.
Emotion is what drives the world and you should ignite your emotional engine, each and every time you work with your new equipment.
THE WHY –
Why You Should Write… (The Proof)
Firstly let’s talk about how the journaling will impact your life, successful journaling does not simply mean the transferal of thoughts into words in the hope that one day they may provide meaning and/or purpose. ‘How naive of you :)’
Successful journalling will transform every area of your life in a matter of months, it will do it by:
- Re-writing the programs (if you like) within the neurological mass we call the subconscious mind. – Your Head
- Dumping old thoughts and limitations, once and for all out of your head onto the paper.
- Integrating old patterns and emotions, before this you have been repressing them !!
Just Allow ‘It’ To Happen
Whatever happens, love your journal for what it is allowing you to become…
DON’T connect too much with the words and painful memories at the level of your MIND, understand that everything that has occurred (and occurring) is building the best damn you there is !!
Everyday 95% of us tend to focus on the negatives in life, the gaps we are yet to fill and the ones that keep us separated from our dreams and desires. You must not ‘dwell’ on your limitations and/or lack in life, you must focus on writing YOU into a masterpiece.

The movie ‘The Secret’ focussed on the ‘Law Of Attraction’, some might say it was not a substantiated technique nor was it a scientifically proven way to ACT, while I disagree with those remarks I can promise this journaling method is absolutely scientifically proven and uses the same principles as the ‘The Secret’.
Clear the old – Set an intention for the New…. And Boom …!! Hold on, and enjoy your new life
It is said that when our attention is concentrated and remains extremely focussed, one opens a neurological pathway to the inner belief systems in the sub-conscious mind.
Meaning that we actually have a direct chance to enhance, or re-write the current belief systems that help or hinder our progress in life. Therefore, we can indeed personally shape our futures…. This is how HYPNOTHERAPY/PSYCHOTHERAPY works.
As written in the Journal of the American Medical Association (Vol. 281, No. 14) three years ago.
In the study, led by Smyth, 107 asthma and rheumatoid arthritis patients wrote for 20 minutes on each of three consecutive days–71 of them about the most stressful event of their lives as well as how they could improve their lives.
Four months after the writing exercise, 70 patients in the stressful-writing group showed improvement on objective, clinical evaluations compared with 37 of the control patients. In addition, those who wrote about stress improved more, and deteriorated less, than controls for both diseases.
“So writing helped patients get better, and also kept them from getting worse,” – according to the American Psychological Association
How To Write (The Content)
There is something special to be said about journaling, for example, if one allows their heart’s desires to pour onto the page without judgment or limitation, then one should bare witness to the amazing transformations as a result of reshaping of the mind.
The KEY to successful journaling is poor your hearts purpose onto the page before you, this is to be done without judgement or correction from the ‘unconscious mind’ (that white noise we allow to 2nd guess ourselves all day long).
Whether pouring your creative ideas onto the page, means first clearing the blocks (old beliefs/emotional wounds), it doesn’t matter. The clear and distinct point you must understand here is this:
‘You are reshaping your future by becoming honest and clear with yourself and the universe’
Lost !! – Not Sure Where To Begin:
Firstly, simply begin to write openly and honestly. Ask yourself a question on paper if you like and then answer it. This is called ‘Automatic Writing’ and it’s when your pen simply takes off on a direction of its own.
Be sure not to continually focus on and write about all the negative in life, write about it sure, but address it and see how its made you the person you are about to become.
Emotion, Emotion, Emotion….I know the secret catalyst to life is Emotion, I cannot urge you enough to emotionally connect (in a grateful way) to the thoughts and words you scribe onto paper. This allows for a positive transformation to occur.
3 Things are required for your subconscious to stand up and take note:
- Emotional Connection to what your are Thinking, Feeling or Acting. This is why we clearly remember our main strengths and weaknesses, our subconscious has categorised them in order of the Emotional Connection (painful or joyful) we had when we first experienced them. So please write unedited but with an emotional charge like no other..
- Extreme narrowing of focus, this is why the 10,000 hour rule applies to becoming a master in any field. Focus your attention on anything with determination and your subconscious know you’re serious this time.
- A Belief of Attainment, throughout history many brilliant minded people have shaped and reshaped the world as we know it, how did this happen you ask…They all pressed forward in their individual fields with an unwavering belief of complete Attainment, of that which they first journaled or documented in some way.
So before you continue to focus on all the ‘Gaps’ that are yet to be filled in your life, be kind to yourself and your new journalling experience …
